Si sa molto più di quello che succede all'interno dell'atomo di quello che succede in un millimetro cubo di tè. (adapted from Uriel Frisch)

Welcome, visitor from the web.

These are the web pages of the Complex Systems T-Group at the Department of Energy, Engineering Faculty, University of Florence. Here you can find information about our activity in the field of Complex Systems and material fron the Laboratory of Physics of Complex Systems.

Who we are? We are physicists, engineers and computer scientists. Our interests range from dynamical systems to statistical mechanics, from sociophysics to population dynamics and evolution. Other topics covered by our activity are systems with long-range interactions (wave-particle interactions), granular systems, sediment transport, and many others ... much more than the available time! Most or our studies are Theoretical. This is the main reason for the T in the group name. Another reason is Tea.

Why the Tea? Well, coffee is quite abused in our neighborhood. We have already "coffee-seminars" and the "caffè-scienza" meetings. Hence, we choose to relax drinking a cup of (green) tea and profit of the afternoon pause to discuss science. We meet physically on monday and virtually here.

How does this virtual stuff works? Behind this very nice home page there is WebComplex, a wiki site in which pages can be edited or commented. There you find presentations, forums and teaching material. We have collected here material related to our popular lectures "physics of everyday life" (in Italian) and the "caffè-scienza" discussion pages. Feel free to post your comments. You can also find informations about the PhD school in Nonlinear Dynamics and Complex Systems (Department of Computer Science) and on other groups in Florence that study complex systems.

Of course, everything is continuously changing...
